cry goodnight sweet prince cry it’s been an honour to have lived in your vague general vicinity for the past decade. while i never saw you with my own eyes, simply knowing you were out there, somewhere, nourished me. the distant dream that perhaps i would one day meet you hulking out there, your arches a beacon in the gloom brought me much solace throughout these tumultuous years. rest in mcpeace </3

I remember visiting you the first time when I was ten. It was on my birthday. You were the most exciting thing about Expo at that time because I was too young to understand gentrification and displacement. I always looked for you fondly on the Salish Sea when I took the West Coast Express or was on a Cruisey T. Sweet dreams, my prince <3

"The barge she sat in, like a burnish'd throne, Burn'd on the water: the poop was beaten gold; Purple the sails, and so perfumed that The winds were love-sick with them; the oars were silver, Which to the tune of flutes kept stroke, and made The water which they beat to follow faster, As amorous of their strokes."

You where the Paragon of Naval McOutlets, built out of necessity; served our waters magnificently, and retained out of sympathy. An era bygone where ones introspection runs wild with the rivers of sorrow gratitude. We wish you farewell in your journey to the great unknown, where the filet o fish's swim freely and McRib's grace the fields of saucy porklestine, proudly like how the captain of a great liner helms her slicing through the North Atlantic at 30 Kn. Farewell Old Man.
